I love horses. I find them to be gentle giants and they can have such fun personalities.

I love stories but I’m not great at telling them words. I’m working on being better with videos but I think my strongest storytelling comes through photos. I think my favorite set of photos comes from the late spring-early summer of 2021. A baby calf was born shortly before I arrived at Kline Creek Farm.

I love how the flowers pop from the background. It’s overall a simple photo which I love.

I think there are 9 elements that separate a good photo from a beautiful one. I think a good photo might have all 9 elements but like in cooking if the ingredients aren’t put in correctly then it doesn’t come out just right. The same goes for photos and some of these are optional. Knowing these key elements and knowing when and when not to break them is also important.

Cameras on phones in the last couple of years have improved leaps and bounds in the last couple of years. and you can create great photography with it. Hello! I was going to do a blog and a video about me but I decided just to do a video.

The older I get the more I love documenting the ordinary and it’s something I want to get more consistent in.

In early December, I took a visit to the Garfield Park Conservatory. I took what is currently my favorite photo I’ve taken so far. I probably have some recency bias but I think this photo shows the growth that I’ve had over the last year with my editing.

I listen to a podcast called Happier by Gretchen Rubin. Gretchen and her sister for the last couple of years done resolutions but a little differently. The list includes the last number of the year, like 19 in 2019 or 20 in 2020. I have done it the last three years or so and I haven’t done that well on them.
