A Look at 2019

For me the end of the year is always a time to reflect and recharge my energies.

It’s hard to believe 2019 is already done. Where did it go? I blinked and it was gone. I’ve changed jobs and I’ve had two jobs for most of the year. I have improved in my photography and in my editing abilities this year. I’m not quite where I want to be in life but I’m proud of who I’ve become this year.

I took 11,200 photos this year and that doesn’t count ones I deleted out of my Lightroom and my work photos. It’s crazy to me that I’ve taken that many photos. I have a gallery up showing a small amount of my photos this year. I could figure out how many I took for one of my jobs but my other one I don’t know how I would figure that out. I wrote 65ish blog posts and I’m hoping to do more of those in 2020. I’ve got two blog ideas for every week from January to April.

One of things I didn’t do well and I realized I didn’t do very well was taking care of myself. One days off, I didn’t do things that give me life. Even if it was just enjoying a cup of coffee or listening to a show I enjoy while doing doing the chores I need done. I want to find one thing a day that I can do that will bring me enjoyment every day.

I made a list of 19 things I wanted to do in 2019 and I didn’t complete enough of the things off that list. I only really completed one thing off the list and did and almost finished a couple of more. I’m in the finishing up my list for 2020 and I’m adjusting my expectations. I’m trying to balance things that I can work on all year and ones I just do once.

As I get older time seems to pass by way too quickly. I’ve realized that I don’t take the time the enjoy the time that I have. This one might not end up only my 2020 list but I want to be more present. I want to spend less on my phone and enjoy nature more. If time is going to go quickly I want to remember it.
