I did this because I wanted a simpler name and that would include everything I create. When I initially started I was only doing photos and now I’ve expanded to doing video. standing among the trees.

I recently changed my business name from Photos by Katie D to Sisk Studios. I did this because I wanted a simpler name and that would include everything I create. When I initially started I was only doing photos and now I’ve expanded to doing video.

I’m finishing up my associates for filmmaking and I plan to go do my bachelors. I don’t want to leave photography behind because I still love it. I don’t want to give it up and I still find it a challenge. I have found that knowing photography has made learning how to capture video easier.
As my skills evolve and change to include things outside of photography and videography I wanted a name that would evolve with me. The inclusion of my last name, Sisk, wasn’t just because it's a part of my name. In my friend group, there are 3 Katie’s in the group and we go by last names so I often get called Sisk. Using it reminds me even though everything doing with the business is up to me, I’m not alone. I have the support of my the people in my life as I do what I do.
