Why Lightroom

You see things; and you say ‘Why?’ But I dream things that never were; and I say ‘Why not?’

For a long time I did very little editing on my photos. It boiled down to being intimated of learning how to do it and being worried that I wouldn’t be able to do it. I got to the point where I was feeling limited and couldn’t get what I was envisioning and bring it to life. I knew a lot of people used Adobe Lightroom and knew I would be able to find tips and tricks to use it. I looked into a couple of other editing softwares but I didn’t like any of them and this was over a year ago so I don’t remember why I didn’t choose them. I know I liked that with Adobe Creative Cloud and getting updates when they happened and having lots and lots of tutorials pretty much everywhere were big pluses with going with Lightroom.

I used the basic Lightroom for a while and I began to out grow it. I use Lightroom Classic for work and I didn’t used it before I got hired for my job at Bella Baby Photography. After using Lightroom Classic for work the since August I’ve basically out grown the basic Lightroom. I would go to do something in the basic Lightroom and I couldn’t do it or the shortcuts are different so I would have to redo who I did on accident and do what I meant to do. Just a couple of weeks ago I switched over to Lightroom Classic for all my work. I have a catalog(where the photos are stored) for my job and then for everything else. I do this so it’s easier to find my work and my personal stuff. It can be annoying to switch between the two but it’s worth being able to use parts of my creativity and have more control of my photos.
